What are the reasons for Byju's failure?
If you want a one-word answer, Mismanagement.Byju's Story starts with his tuition to some of his friends for CAT and when some of them cleared CAT Byju himself appeared for CAT and got 100% and got offers from many IIMS but didn't join any of them.
After some years he appeared again for CAT and again got 100% now he decided to start CAT coaching and very quickly gained popularity in many parts of INDIA with many centers.
After some time, he started giving classes for other competitive exams and school classes.
Byju's major J curve growth started in COVID because of the online classes, and it became a unicorn startup but acquired many companies like Whitehat Junior, Akash IIT, etc. which became of the reason for its failure.
After COVID-19 when lockdown rules were relaxed, and schools and colleges reopened online classes' popularity dropped drastically which impacted all Edtech companies' profits along with Byju's.
